My Experience with B4SG

DePaul Business for Social Good (B4SG) is a student organization dedicated to promoting social responsibility and sustainability in business practices. The club brings together students who are passionate about making a positive impact on society, offering opportunities for networking, professional development, and hands-on involvement in projects that focus on ethical business practices and social good. As a member of B4SG since its founding, I have had the privilege of growing alongside the organization and taking on various leadership roles that have shaped my understanding of what it means to be a socially responsible leader in today’s business world.

Reflecting on my time with the DePaul Business for Social Good club, I can see how much I've grown, both personally and professionally. From being a founding member to now stepping into the role of Vice President, I've had the opportunity to take on various leadership responsibilities that have taught me the importance of collaboration, organization, and effective communication.

In my first year, managing the club's social media accounts was a challenging yet rewarding experience. It pushed me to learn about graphic design, social media strategy, and how to engage a wider audience with compelling content. The responsibility of representing the club online helped me develop a sense of ownership and creativity. 

As Secretary & Communications Officer, I learned the value of keeping things organized and making sure the team stayed on track. Coordinating internal meetings, handling communications, and creating agendas with the President strengthened my ability to manage tasks efficiently and keep everyone accountable. It was also a time when I was able to apply skills from my previous internships, like email marketing, to help the club stay connected with its members.

Now, as I approach my final year with the club, I will be the Vice President. I am filled with anticipation for the leadership challenges ahead that I have not yet discovered.. This position offers a new perspective on how a club operates from a higher level, and I look forward to learning how to manage a team, inspire others, and make strategic decisions that will impact the direction of the club.

Looking back, I’m grateful for each role I've had within the club, as each one has been a stepping stone toward becoming a more confident and capable leader. I am excited for what the future holds, knowing that my time with Business for Social Good has provided me with invaluable lessons and experiences that will guide me in the years to come.
