My Experience at Felins Inc.

This was my first professional job experience. I interned at Felins Inc., a secondary packaging machinery company based in Richfield, Wisconsin. I was the Sales and Marketing Intern from June to November 2023 and worked with the marketing and sales teams. 

During my time there, I had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment, contribute to real marketing projects, and learn more about the packaging industry.

I supported the marketing team with tasks such as social media content creation, website updates, and market research. This experience helped me build confidence in a professional setting and gave me a clearer sense of what I want to pursue in my future career.

Waking up every day, I was genuinely excited to go to work. Being in a professional setting for the first time gave me my first real taste of what a corporate job looks like, and I loved it. It confirmed that marketing was the right path for me, and I’m so grateful that Felins gave me the opportunity to explore that passion.

From sitting in on team meetings to working on actual marketing materials, I felt like I was truly contributing while learning so much along the way. That experience not only strengthened my interest in marketing but also helped me grow more confident in my abilities and more motivated to pursue a career in the field.

I came into the internship very green, so I truly learned a lot during my time there. I gained valuable skills like using Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word, organizing leads in Salesforce to support the sales team, and creating short-form video content. I also got hands-on experience recording, editing, and uploading long-form videos to YouTube, learning key industry terms, and developing marketing materials for tradeshows. 

Many of these skills have carried over into my academic work, and student organization, and have been incredibly helpful in preparing me for my next internship or career opportunity.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to intern at Felins. It was the perfect first step into the professional world, and it gave me a strong foundation to build on. I’m thankful to the Felins team for believing in me, guiding me, and helping me discover just how passionate I am about marketing.
